松花湖在吉林省吉林市的东南，距市中心24公里，是我国最著名的人工湖泊之一。松花湖是丰满电站拦江大坝所形成的人工湖，始建于1937年。湖区面积550平方公里，最大蓄水量108亿立方米。湖形呈狭长形，如坐飞机俯瞰，松花湖像一串闪光的珍珠。这串“珍珠”长200公里，最宽处10公里，最深处是75米，规模相当于四个北京密云水库，可与浙江省的千岛湖相媲美。
Located 24 kilometers southeast of Jilin City, Jilin Province, Songhua Lake is one of the most famous artificial lakes in China. It was created after the completion of the Fengman Hydropower Station in 1937. Covering a total area of 550 square kilometers (55,000 hectares), the lake has a maximum water capacity of 10.8 billion square meters. The narrow lake, which looks like a string of pearls, is 200 kilometers (124.27 miles) in length, 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) at its widest point, and 75 meters at its deepest point.
