2001年11月19日，依靠试管婴儿技术，邓文迪生下了她和默多克的第一个孩子格雷丝。2003年6月，邓文迪又为默多克生下了一个女儿克洛伊。默多克很快抱着幼女宣布道：“我的所有孩子都有接替我的位置的机会，即使是格雷丝和克洛伊，她们尽管年龄很小，但她们和其他兄姐享有同样的承诺”。
