2005年8月2日，多伦多皮尔逊国际机场，法国航空公司一架空中客车A340客机在降落时遭遇恶劣天气，飞机滑出跑道冲入附近一条河道，随即起火燃烧。机上12名机组人员与297名乘客及时撤离机舱，无人死亡，仅有43人受伤。
