1974年，中国向联合国赠送了一幅巨幅艺术壁毯《长城》，壁毯长10米，宽5米，面积50平方米。这幅壁毯由15名织毯高手以248种色纱织成，表现了北京居庸关长城的雄姿，目前挂在联合国大会厅旁的主要代表休息厅里。
Great Wall Tapestry. Depicting lush forest, sunshine and the Great Wall spanning a mountain range, the tapestry has more than 5 million knots symbolizing China's prosperity and vitality. It was given to the UN headquarters in 1974.
