保罗是在户外运动骑行时发现了数量惊人的龙虾聚集在奥塔哥半岛海滩的，并将这一幕拍了下来。十年前，保罗在划艇时也见过这种龙虾。龙虾个头不大，只有回形针大小。潮汐将它们带到岸边，但潮汐一退，它们恐怕将难逃厄运。

据英国《每日邮报 》1月10日报道，新西兰居民保罗•范•坎彭（Paul Van Kampen）近日发现丹尼丁奥塔哥半岛附近水域鲜红一片，原来是一大群龙虾被潮汐冲到了岸边，“染红”了这片海。
