Editor's note: A set of "piano stairs" has recently been installed at a large shopping mall in the Pudong Area of Shanghai. The stairs, designed and arranged according to a piano keyboard, can produce melodious sounds when people walk on them. The design team hopes the piano stairs will add joy and zest to people's lives as well as advocating a low-carbon and healthy lifestyle -- more walking and less use of elevators.
