'Gold roses' bloom during Qixi Festival
Editor's note: The Qixi Festival, also called the Double Seventh Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival which is full of romance. It falls on the seventh day of the seventh month according to Chinese lunar calendar and this year it falls on August 9 in the Gregorian calendar. The Cowherd and the Girl Weaver are two figures in an ancient Chinese fairy tale. They are a married couple who live apart, separated by a billowy river, and can only meet on the bridge of the river on that evening every year in Heaven. To celebrate this festival, couples and lovers usually send flowers to each other like on Western Valentine's Day. There are usually a series of commercial activities launched by businesses to promote the sale of goods. In the following pictures, the "gold roses" introduced by a gold shop in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, have attracted the attention of many customers despite a fairly high cost.
