​Hengqin invites talents to chart the future

Hengqin New Area, a major component of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has opened up an invitation for talents to jointly build a Smart Hengqin. 

The new area will kick off a series of postdoctoral activities from mid-November to mid-December, including a signing ceremony for the third phase of the Hong Kong Scholars Program, Third Symposium of Hong Kong Scholars Program, the signing ceremony of the first Macao Young Scholars Program, International Symposium on Postdoctoral System and National Postdoctoral Academic Forum. 

Intensifying talent communication among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao 

The signing ceremony of the third phase of the Hong Kong Scholars Program and Third Symposium of Hong Kong Scholars Program will open on Nov. 16. Guests attending the ceremony include the heads of the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Human Resources and Social Security Department of Guangdong Province, the Society of Hong Kong Scholars, Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Center and Hong Kong's universities, candidates of Hong Kong Scholars Program, and tutor representatives from Hong Kong. They will share their experience of scientific research at the symposium. 

In view of the fruitful outcomes of the Hong Kong Scholars Program, the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council will sign an agreement with the Association for Promotion of Science and Technology of Macao to launch the Macao Young Scholars Program which will support excellent mainland talented personnel continuing their postdoctoral research work in Macao's universities. 

Contributing suggestions for China's talent development

Under the guidance from the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the 2018 International Symposium on Postdoctoral System will be held from Nov. 17 to 18 in Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai, Guangdong province, with distinguished guests from China and abroad gathering there to discuss the development of the postdoctoral system, international exchanges and cooperative system innovation, as well as young talent training mode comparation and analysis. 

International education committee of Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy will host its third symposium themed "Building first-class institutions of higher education and first-class disciplines with a global outlook." 

Setting advanced topics and converging China's wisdom 

To intensify postdoctoral academic exchange and promote the research of smart city, the National Postdoctoral Academic Forum will open in Hengqin New Area on Dec. 13 themed with "Internet of Things · Sensing the World." 

This year's forum will focus on standards and security of the Internet of Things and construct a high-end and advanced platform for integration of production, education and research. 

Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, experts from relevant ministries and research organizations and entrepreneurs will give talks on the Internet of Things. 

Officials and experts from the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Guangdong provincial government, Zhuhai municipal government and Hengqin New Area administration will attend the forum. 

The organizers will also organize an event for the cohort of the China Postdoctoral Sci-Tech Service Corps from Dec. 15 to 16 to help attendees learn about the business environment, industrial supporting policies and talent policies in Hengqin.
