The 2018 International Symposium on Postdoctoral System opened in Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai, Guangdong province on Nov. 17, as part of a series of postdoctoral activities being hosted in the new area from mid-November to mid-December.

The symposium explores subjects such as innovation on international postdoctoral exchanges and cooperation, comparison of different postdoctoral cultivation modes, integration of talent cultivation with industrial-academic-research cooperation, and the development of China's postdoctoral system.

In addition to speeches and discussion sessions, participants also took part in a number of field trips to local enterprises.

The English website of the China National Postdoctoral Council was launched with the aim to attract more international talents to conduct postdoctoral research work in the country, signaling the further opening up of China's postdoctoral system.
