The finals of the Sixth Hengqin Cup National Postdoctoral Tennis Tournament drew to an end in Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai city, Guangdong province on Dec. 16, with 16 teams consisting of 150 players taking part in the three-day competition.
Lin Zhesheng, from the team of Southeast University and Foretech Elec.App. (Jiangsu) Co, won men's singles. The same team also went on to win the team event.
Xiong Zhenguo and Wang Hong from the team of Guangdong province won men's doubles. Cao Qinglei and Jiang Ting, from the team of Tsinghua University, won mixed doubles.
Presenting the honors were Qiu Chunlei, deputy secretary-general of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation; Sun Zhen, director of human resources office of Beijing Sport University; Wei Jianhua, director of professionals and technical personnel management at Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangdong Province; Quan Guan, deputy chief of the Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security of Zhuhai City; Liu Lianjun, former deputy director of the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council; and Li Na, diving gold medalist at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
The tennis event was authorized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the China National Postdoctoral Council and organized by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Beijing Sport University, Hengqin New Area's postdoctoral administration office and the Zhuhai Da Hengqin Technology Development Co.
Deng Lianbing, director of Hengqin New Area's postdoctoral administration office and president of Zhuhai Da Hengqin Technology Development Co., hosted the closing ceremony.
