Cartoon Projects for Chinese Language Education

The Cartoon Projects of Chinese Language Education are now in progress to carry forward Chinese culture in the form of cartoons, comics, pictures, audio and video products, digital arts and internet which are favored by overseas youngsters of Chinese origin.

Related departments in China have always focused on promoting Chinese language education abroad, particularly among overseas youngsters of Chinese origin. Lacking understanding about Chinese society and edification in Chinese language environment, overseas Chinese youths encounter difficulties in learning Chinese language and comprehending Chinese culture.

Cartoons have become a cultural communication method with the most radiative influence because of their understandability, education in entertainment, acceptability and fast impartation. Therefore the Chinese Language Education Foundation planed Cartoon Projects of Chinese Language Education to encourage Chinese language study and promote Chinese culture in the form of cartoons which are able to teach youths in entertainment.

It is learnt that these projects are composed of three parts, namely products plans, original cartoon contest for global Chinese youths and base project.

Main contents of the product plans for cartoon projects include cartoon series, cartoon products, comic products, cartoon TV programs, and online games for Chinese language education. The product plans have finished and will soon finish production of a three-dimension cartoon movie Shanhaijing (The Classic of Mountains and Seas), a cartoon story Lingling Teaches Chinese and a cartoon series Mcdull Wudang.
