Wild Jujubes is directed by Zhang Jigang, a famous
Chinese playwright and choreographer who also created the dance
Thousands Hands Guanyin. The new drama will be the
curtain-closer for the third session of the Beijing International
Dance Performance Season.
Tickets for the drama sold well not only because it is Zhang's
latest play, but also due to splendid scenes which inspire the warm
and happy atmosphere of the coming Spring Festival.
There is more good news for the drama: Wild Jujubes has
ranked number one in Top Ten Best Cultural Projects for 2005-2006.
The prize indicates the drama is an excellent art production.
Before this play, there were several business culture themed
creations of ancient Shanxi, including the drama Autumn
Begins, and the TV series Treasure Valley and Long
Piao. However, none of them has received such great a welcome
as Wild Jujubes.
More than half of the sold tickets represent group
sales. A lot of corporations and businesses are big buyers. They
buy tickets as presents for clients in order to enhance their image
and improve contacts. What's more, they intend to show the virtue
of honesty in doing business as it is presented in the drama.
The producers have revealed they will give each audience member
a little red lantern on the day of the show. Spectators can light
the lantern while watching the performance to create a warm
atmosphere in the hall. The red lantern will also bring them good
luck and represents best wishes in the Chinese New Year.
