An on-going photo exhibition aimed at being an eye-opener for
Beijing residents depicts the true living and working conditions of
rural migrant workers and their children who have come to the
national capital.
The exhibit show is organized by the Cultural Communication
Center for Facilitators (CCCF), in collaboration with an
international non-government organization and the largest book
store in the city.
CCCF was set up in 2003 to to empower rural workers in cities
and help urban and rural areas to develop harmoniously, under the
tenet of "solidarity and cooperation, helping others and
yourself".
On May 4, a workshop was held at the bookstore, where
representatives from various social strata met to share their views
on the issue. At the gathering, the CCCF donated books to a local
school for the children of migrant workers.
The organizer said the photo show will also be held at colleges
and universities, and communities in rural areas, so as to increase
the public awareness about the issue.
