China's top think tank, the Chinese Academy of
Social Sciences (CASS), Wednesday held a symposium on the War
to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53).

Academy of Sciences of the People's Liberation Army, the Party
Literature Research Center of the Communist Party of China
(CPC) Central Committee, the Party History Research Center

interest of the Chinese people at that time.
With patriotism and revolutionary heroism, the Chinese People's
Volunteer Army fought hard on the battlefield, Qi said.
Ru Xin, former vice president of the CASS and a former veteran
of the war, said that when facing the unavoidable war 50 years
ago, the Chinese people fearlessly fought against the invaders.
Li Jie, a researcher at the Party Literature Research Center,

government to join the war was well-advised.
Since the war, China has established a responsible and just
national image, becoming an important force for safeguarding
justice and peace in the world, Li said.
Meng Qinglong, an associate professor of the CASS, said that
in a sense the war made a great contribution to the peace
of Asia and the world.
