Ancient
Tombs, Wells Discovered in North China
|
Archaeologists recently
discovered ancient tombs and wells at Handan City in the southern
part of north China's Hebei province.
The three tombs and four wells unearthed are
believed to date back to the Warring States Period (BC475-BC221).
Experts said that the tomb owners might have
been scholar-officials from feudal society. The wells were likely
to be built in the Warring States Period and continued to be used
by people until the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
Archaeologists also found some colorful pottery,
tiles, coins, and vessels in the tombs.
