The Fangzhuang Sports Park, the first sports park for a neighborhood community in Beijing, opened to the public Saturday.
　　
The 7.8-hectare sports park is located in the Fangzhuang resident community in eastern part of Beijing. It consists of indoor and outdoor tennis courts, outdoor basketball fields, a standard 400-meter racing course, a soccer field and a fit center that has gyms, table tennis courts and bridge and chess rooms.
　　
More than 100 residents in the neighborhood visited the sports park on the first day of its opening and praised it as a ideal place for recreation and physical exercises.
　　
The sports park has nearly half of its area covered by trees and grass.
