China to Host World B-class Cycle Racing

Approved by the State General Administration of Sports and International Cycling Union(UCI), the World B-class Cycle Racing Tournament will be held June 19-23, 2001 in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, as part of the effort to back up Beijing's 2008 Olympic Bid.

World B-class cycle racing is a new important world-class tournament launched by the International Cyclists Federation. More than 400 cyclists from over 30 countries and areas are predictably in hopes to sign up for the racing. Contests will be conducted in two categories, 12 events, venue racing and highroad racing. Outstanding Chinese cyclists will be organized on behalf of China to take part in all events and strive to win good records in the tournament.
