A weekly charter flight service between Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province and Bangkok, capital of Thailand, is scheduled to start on June 30.
Sources with the Henan Tourism Group Co said that following the maiden flight service, a weekly flight from Zhengzhou to Bangkok will operate each Friday and the return flight from Bangkok to Zhengzhou will be each Saturday, using a Boeing 737.
During holidays, the number of flights and the models of passenger aircraft may be increased or changed, said the sources. The Zhengzhou-Bangkok direct flight service, the first of its kind from the inland province, will take about three and a half hours.
Thailand has been an important source of tourists for Henan for a long time and one of the major tourist destinations for Henan residents.
Zhengzhou is the 10th Chinese city to establish direct air links with Bangkok.
