A new road bridge over the Yellow River, China's second-longest river, opened to traffic Wednesday.
The double-tower stayed-cable Lijin Bridge, which connects the cities of Dongying and Binzhou in east China's Shandong Province, is 1,350 meters in total length.
Its 310-meter major span and 115-meter pile foundation exceed the relevant measurements of the other bridges over the river.
The bridge used a total investment of some 203 million yuan (over US$24 million) from three local enterprises, and was built in accordance with the international financing model of BOT (build-operate-transfer).
