A large dinosaur park in China is going to open September 20 in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province.
Known as Changzhou China Dinosaur or Oriental Jurassic Park, it took two years and a cost of 300 million yuan in the first period of construction over an area totaling 900 mu (about 60,000 square meters).
Exhibits will be shown on a grand scale in the Chinese Dinosaur Museum of this park. The museum is formed of three parts, i.e. exhibition, entertainment and research.
Thirty-six skeleton fossils as of Yangchuanosaurus, Mamenchisaurus (a kind of 72-foot long dinosaur, which has the longest neck of any animal ever, and the smallest head compared to body size) and Tyrannosaurus rex representing varied geological times and excavation sites in China will be on display. Along with these invaluable exhibits, the centerpiece is the Chinese Dinosaur-bird Fossil, which is admitted to be the rarest one and of high academic value.
Different from traditional museums, every exhibition hall in this new-notion museum has specific characteristics of its own, showing the highest hi-tech intermediate means and effect as of sound, light and electricity, including VCD, Cartoon and Internet Game.
Surrounded by a realistic environment setting of waterfall, cliff, ocean, forest and caves, visitors will be in a wonderful odyssey from the Jurassic period when dinosaurs first dominated on Earth to the end of the Cretaceous period when they became extinct, highlighting the theme of protecting zoology and environment. Furthermore, as represented by large traveling dinosaur exhibitions in Hollywood's Jurassic Park and 48 six-dimension movies on the "dinosaur extinction" there will be shown the fullest appeal of Changzhou "Jurassic Park" to visitors for its great educational, scientific, and entertaining value. Moreover, there are some large-medium sized entertainment equipment, delicate plant arboretums and other cool recreations available for visitors in the Oriental Jurassic Park.
