The world's second Santa Claus theme park will be one of the major tourist attracts during China's International Snow & Ice Festival, which is to be held from January 1, 2001.
The park, located in a ski resort of Jinlin province, is the second hometown of Santa Claus after Finland.
The 49-day festival, hosted by the National Tourism Administration and the provincial government of Jilin, will include such activities as ice-carving, a winter swimming contest, hunting and motorcycling on ice.
Jilin province, a popular winter tourist destination in northeast China, is visited by many tourists from home and abroad. So far this year, the number of overseas tourists have increased by 18 percent from the same period last year.
