A garden featuring sculptures of famous Chinese people was opened on Sept. 19 in Qingdao.
Guo Dongpo, head of the Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs of the State Council and Wang Jiarui, mayor of Qingdao, along with several famous Chinese people from overseas to unveil the garden.
Some 15,000 square meters in area and divided into three zones, the garden has 21 sculptures of famous Chinese people mainly from science and technology circles.
According to a source, the first group of famous figures of Chinese origin are Nobel Prize winners.
Tomorrow the 2000 World Chinese Forum will open here, which will attract around 400 representatives from both at home and abroad.
