Canadian Prime Minister Jean  Chretien Wednesday morning flied to China's largest metropolis of  Shanghai to continue his 9-day official visit.
Prior to this, President Jiang Zemin and Chairman Li Peng of  the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress met with  Chretien respectively, and Premier Zhu Rongji held talks with him.
Chretien also visited Xi'an, capital of China's northwest  Shaanxi Province.
Chretien arrived in Beijing Saturday, accompanied by an  entourage of more than 600 people, the largest mission ever sent  by Canada to a foreign country in its diplomatic history.
