Wei Jianxing, chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, met Wednesday with Leroy Trotman, president of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Association of Barbados, and his delegation.
Wei, also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, said that as two developing nations, China and Barbados have seen a smooth development of relations since they established diplomatic relations in 1977, and the Chinese side is satisfied with this.
He said bilateral relations between the two sides will continue to develop as long as the two treat each other on an equal footing and make joint efforts, although the two are different in national customs, social systems and level of economic development.
Trotman praised China for its great economic development and the role the All-China Federation of Trade Unions has played in that process. He stressed that the trade unions of the two countries face many common tasks and therefore should enhance cooperation and exchange.
