Shanghai Week Opens in Paris

Shanghai Week, one of the major activities of the closing stages of the Chinese Culture Year in France, has opened in Tuilerie Park in Paris Saturday afternoon.

Minister of Culture Sun Jiazheng spoke at the ceremony, which was also attended by other Chinese officials including Li Changchun, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central committee.

Major activities during the week include a dance drama version of Farewell to My Concubine, a fashion show focusing on Shanghai clothes and an exhibition of ink and wash paintings from the Shanghai Museum.
