Police in Changsha, Hunan Province, are standing guard over one of those injured in Tuesday's bus explosion. They believe he may be the man who set off the blast.
The suspect, Yang Jinquan, 54, is a farmer in Hengshan County, Hunan. Police sources say that Yang was depressed as a result of family disputes and reportedly told a friend about a month ago that he would create "a surprising incident" in Changsha, the provincial capital.
The explosion, which occurred Tuesday afternoon at an intersection in the city, injured 54 passengers, many of them high school students. Nine are reported to be in critical condition.
The investigation into the case is continuing.
