Two more dead have been found after the fire at a factory in Taichung City on the island province of Taiwan early on Tuesday morning, according to local media reports.
Previous reports had said that seven people had been killed, whilst five others escaped.
All nine of those confirmed dead so far were factory workers and their families, the latest report said.
The blaze was brought under control after daybreak.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but fire fighters said they suspect that it was caused by an electrical fault.
