The municipal government of Beijing has issued a ban on all air sports involving paragliders, model airplanes and fire balloons during the annual sessions of the country's top legislature and advisory body in the first half of next month.
The ban between March 1 and 16 is aimed to prevent possible terror attacks during the annual sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, according to the municipal tourism administration Friday.
Tourism bureaus at all levels in the city will be responsible for the implementing the measure, by investigating and monitoring local flying clubs and amateur flyers.
