The 10th Investment and Trade Fair for Cooperation Between East and West China will be staged from April 6 to 10 in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, said the fair organizing officer.
The fair will present 12,000 projects for cooperation and investment, Zhao Dequan, deputy director of the trade fair organizing office, told a press conference held in Beijing on March 1.
Delegations from 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions on the Chinese mainland as well as those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will attend the fair to seek cooperation and investment opportunities in the fields of science and technology, education, medicine, culture and tourism, said the organizer.
In addition, about 3,000 foreign business people and 100 foreign business delegations will participate in the fair, the source said.
The fair, aimed at expanding the scope of cooperation between east and west China for harmonious development, was first launched in 1997. Since then it has become an important national economic trade event and an important platform for exchanges and cooperation between China's relatively affluent east and impoverished west.
