Chinese archeologists have discovered some 138 ancient tombs in Huxian County in Shaanxi Province.
Located in the Dongyan graveyard of the county, the tombs date back to different historical periods, ranging from the Shang Dynasty (BC16-11 Century), Spring and Autumn Period (BC770-BC476) to the Qin Dynasty (BC221-BC207).
According to the archeologists, 62 of the tombs have been excavated so far, yielding bronze ware, pottery, clam-shell articles, and bones of animal which were buried live with the tomb occupants.
The discovery will provide valuable clues for study on history and culture exchange in the periods.
