The Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the largest museum of its kind in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, will be in service from December 17, according to a government press release in Hong Kong Saturday.
The five-floor building occupies a gross floor space of 28,500 square meters and enjoys a net exhibition area of 7,500 square meters.
With the adoption of the traditional Chinese courtyard design and the state-of-the-art architectural technology, the museum complex features a variety of specially designed exhibition possibilities to cover different aspects of history, arts and culture.
To meet the wide-ranging interests of the public, a lively and diverse range of exhibitions and programs will be provided at the museum to engage visitors in a highly enjoyable and educational experience.
The museum houses 12 exhibition galleries composed of six permanent galleries and six thematic galleries, including Orientation Theater, Children's Discovery Gallery and Cantonese Opera Heritage Hall.
