The 15th Harbin International Ice Engraving Contest opened January 6 in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
Nineteen teams from China, Russia, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, Singapore, and other countries have come to attend the contest.
The contest is held at Zhaolin Park and will last until January 8.
This year, visitors will be allowed to enter the contest area in order to get a closer look at the artists' ice engraving skills.
