China produced 528,100 cars and sold 480,000 cars in its domestic market in February 2006, up 58.71 percent and 50.66 percent from last year, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday.
During the month, China produced 377,700 passenger cars and sold 344,500 of them, jumping 75.45 percent and 61.46 percent.
Meanwhile, the production and sales volume of cars for commercial use reached 150,400 and 135,500, up 28.03 percent and 28.76 percent.
As the price of cars in China continues to drop, people are becoming more willing to buy them, insiders said.
