United Parcel Service (UPS) announced in Shanghai Wednesday the opening of its first batch of Express retail stores in China to enhance services for businesses.
Located in the heart of the Hongqiao and Lujiazui central business districts, the stores provide offices and small businesses with convenient and quick access to its package drop-off and pickup services.
"China's rapid growth continues to drive the global economy, and the UPS Express stores will give businesses a convenient channel to markets throughout the world," said Ken Torok, president of UPS Asia Pacific.
The UPS Express stores offer a full range of shipping options for international shipments including UPS Worldwide Express Plus and UPS Worldwide Express.
The launch of the stores is the latest step in the expansion of UPS operations and services in China. UPS recently expanded its air network with additional flights to the United States and a new service to Europe.
UPS and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in June outlining the logistics and express delivery services UPS will provide for the Games.
UPS is the world's largest package delivery company and a global leader in supply chain services. Headquartered in Atlanta, UPS serves more than 200 countries and regions worldwide.
