HK Tourism Recommendation to Add Excitement to Lunar New Year
Sha Tin, one of Hong Kong's earliest and most mature new towns, will showcase its attractions to visitors and residents next month as the City of Life: Hong Kong is it! campaign's "Recommendation of the Month" for February.

  At the launching ceremony Thursday, the Hong Kong Tourism Board(HKTB) said a host of colorful events will take place in Sha Tin next month, adding extra excitement to the Lunar New Year.

  These activities include the Chinese New Year Flower Market, a "Mythical Figures Parade" as part of its Lantern Festival celebrations, and a festive lighting program.

  Joined by more than 800 performers, the Sha Tin District Council's "Mythical Figures Parade" will take place on February 23.The spectacular features lion and dragon dancers, Chinese martial arts, Tai Chi and folk dance performances.

  Between September 2001 and February 2003, each of Hong Kong's 18 districts is taking its turn to promote its attractions as the "Recommendation of the Month" as part of the City of Life: Hong Kong is it! campaign.

  This campaign is organized by the HKTB in cooperation with the Home Affairs Department, Leisure and Cultural Service Department and Tourism Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
