The world's leading wireless phone producer, the Hong Kong subsidiary of Japan-based Unitone Electronics Company, is to invest US$30 million in east China's Jiangxi province.
According to an agreement between the Hong Kong branch of Unitone Electronics, and the government of Jizhou District in Ji'an city, the planned investment project will be located in Jizhou Industrial Park.
A spokesperson for the Hong Kong branch said the planned production center in Jiangxi will be a capital and technology-intensive electronics manufacturer.
The company specializes in manufacturing and marketing wireless phones, mobile phones, satellite receivers and other electronic products.
Unitone Electronics reported annual sales totaling 100 billion yen with investments in the United States, Australia, Taiwan and other regions.
The Japanese company, which was set up in 1966, established Unitone Electronics (Shenzhen) Company in Shenzhen, a boomtown bordering Hong Kong, in 1993 through its Hong Kong company.
With over 90 percent of its products exported, the Shenzhen Company ranks the third among the city's top 100exporters.
