The development of cities in the 21st century is being discussed by professionals at the 46th Annual Congress of the International Federation for Housing and Planning (IFHP), which opened in north China's Tianjin City on Sunday evening.
More than 500 specialists and government representatives from 44 countries are attending the four-day congress.
Jointly sponsored by the Tianjin Municipal Government and IFHP, the 46th Annual Congress is the first IFHP congress to be held in China. Sources with the organizers said, while concentrating on urban design and sustainable development, this congress will also discuss urban renovation, reconstruction and expansion.
Founded in 1913, IFHP is a worldwide network of professionals in the housing and planning sector. It organizes activities and provides facilities for the international exchange of expertise and experience in the profession.
