Chinese voice convergence technology pioneer iFLYTEK and Japanese electronics giant Epson reached an agreement here Thursday in Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui province, to cooperate in embedded voice products.
Under the 20-million-yuan (US$2.4 million) agreement, iFLYTEK and Epson will cooperate in developing embedded applications for systems such as mobile phones, palm digital assistants, and global positioning systems for automobiles.
The cooperation will combine Epson's research and development capability in integrated circuits and embedded systems and iFLYTEK's leading role in voice convergence technology.
iFLYTEK is a subsidiary of the Hefei-based University of Science and Technology of China under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China's top research and development institution.
