The Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank) yesterday opened a representative office in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
The office will mainly provide services for companies in the provinces of Heilongjiang and Jilin - two important industrial bases of China, said Yang Zilin, president of the bank.
In recent years, the two provinces have experienced strong growth in engineering projects and machinery product exports.
As the country's only export-orientated policy bank, China Exim Bank had always paid special attention to machinery and electronics product exports, Yang said.
By the end of November, China Exim Bank had provided 2.3 billion yuan (US$277 million) in loans for the two provinces. The bank also provided them with US$300 million worth of foreign government loans.
