Shanghai is to invite bids from both home and abroad for schemes to develop its 15.5-km eastern river line of Huangpu, a project vital for the city's next five years' sustainable growth.
Located at the Yangpu District, the area boasts of a complete set of industrial facilities including a water plant and fishery and pharmacy industries. A dock resort and an international purchasing service center are being planned.
According to the district deputy governor Yuan Yuebin, the development of the area is to serve for high-end residence and offices in a ecologically balanced manner.
Yuan welcomed any potential bidder to contact his government starting from mid-March.
