The Hisense Group has been cited by the China Consumers' Association as the country's only maker of color TV sets which has received not a single complaint about its products for the past 17 years.
The association made the announcement at a press conference here today.
The company, based in Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province, won the title for its strict quality management, advanced technology and timely service.
Hisense realized the output of 3 million sets in 2000, 5.5 percent up from the previous year, and is widely considered to be the fastest-growing company in the industry.
Fang Shuran, secretary-general of the Shandong Consumers' Association, said that technology innovation and the policy of quality first was the secret of the success of Hisense.
Hisense has invested 1.8 billion yuan (US$216 million) in developing new products and updating its production lines over the past five years, said Fang.
The group is now building a production line to turn out advanced big-screen digital TV sets, which will be on sale in the next six months.
