Filming of "Mao Zedong and Snow", a screen adaptation of Edga Snow's "Red Star Over China", has been completed and its premiere was held in Nanchang, provincial capital of east China's Jiangxi Province.
The film features on late Chairman Mao Zedong and American journalist Edga Snow's devotion to the great undertakings of the
founding of new China and the world anti-fascism struggle.
The film introduces the legendary Long March of the Chinese Red Army, Snow's four visits to China and the profound 35-year friendship between Mao Zedong and Snow.
Edga Snow, a widely respected friend of China, first visited China in 1928 and wrote Red Star Over China following a visit to the revolutionary base area in northwestern China's Shaanxi Province in 1936.
Song Jiangbo, director of the film, said Mao Zedong and Snow were ordinary people, one was the son of a farmer of Shaoshan Mountain in central China's Hunan Province and the other was a
foreign journalist who loved to travel.
He said, the two men belonged to different nations and had different cultural backgrounds. However, they had been pursuing the same undertakings of peace and the advancement of mankind.
The Changchun Film Studio, Jiangxi Film Studio and Jiujiang Yangtze Film Corp. jointly produced the film.
