Meteor Showers to Break out Next Year

An astronomer of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said that meteor showers will likely break out in November next year, offering Chinese a good chance to observe.

The international astronomical community forecast that people in East Asia will be able to observe the outbreak of meteor showers with the flux of over 10,000 meteors per hour, from the midnight of November 18 to the early morning of November 19 next year.

"The meteor showers that will break out next year will be much greater than those in 1998. You should find a good place to observe them," said Dr. Zhu Jin with the Beijing Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. "When meteor showers arrive, it will be the midnight in China, which will be most appropriate for observation," he noted.
