Contaminated Sandwiches Sicken 200

Over 200 people were sickened by contaminated sandwiches in Bao'an District, Shenzhen City of south China's Guangdong Province, on Tuesday, however no death reported, according to local health authority.

According to local sources, all victims fell ill and developed similar symptoms including fever, vomit, diarrhea and abdominal pain after having eaten sandwiches produced by a local food company.

Health authority of Bao'an District responded swiftly to the incident by tracing down the venue of production of the contaminated food and halting sale of more sandwiches at 24 marketing outlets.

By press time, 183 have remained at the hospital for further observation.

Cause of the contamination is under investigation.
