The Hong Kong Trade Union Federation has held a grand party to celebrate the May Day holiday.
It was attended by Hong Kong acting Chief Executive Donald Tsang and the central government's chief representative in Hong Kong, Gao Siren and other senior officials.
At the party, the Federation's board chairman said Hong Kong's tourism, retail and service sectors have benefited from close ties with the Chinese mainland.
He pledged to enact regulations to further guarantee laborers' rights and interests, and create more job opportunities to boost the economic development of Hong Kong.
