Twenty-five middle school students from Mongolia are expected will study in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region starting in September, said sources with the No. 6 Middle School in Alxa Left Banner Monday.
All the Mongolian students will come from Mongolia's South-Gobi Aymag and the costs of their studies at the No. 6 Middle School will be covered by the Alxa Left Banner according to an agreement signed by governments between the two schools last year.
Courses are taught solely in Mongolian at No. 6 Middle School and the school the only one of its kind in the Banner. Currently, the school employs 31 teachers and enrolls 143 students.
According to the school statistics, 1,416 students have graduated from the 25-year-old school.
Economic and cultural exchanges between the Alxa Left Banner and the neighboring South-Gobi Aymag in Mongolia have been continuously strengthened in recent years. The 25 Mongolian students are expected to serve diplomatic and interpreting roles in the future, said sources from the school.
