The Center for Health Protection has confirmed the year's first cholera case in Hong Kong.
According to a government press release on Friday, a 27-year-old woman developed diarrhea, nausea and vomiting on June 17 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital on June 22.
The woman, who had lived in Indonesia and arrived in Hong Kong on June 15, is in stable condition.
The center said the best way to prevent cholera and food-borne diseases is to observe good personal, food and environmental hygiene at all times.
