Miners Saved from Collapsed Coal Mine in Jilin

All four miners who were trapped for six days after the entrance of a colliery collapsed in Liaoyuan City of northeastern Jilin Province, were saved on early Wednesday morning.

Rescuers found the four miners, who were in a weak condition, at the shaft more than 20 meters underground at around 1 AM Wednesday, said Dong Xiangge, head of the provincial administration of coal mine safety supervision.

"The miners have been sent to hospital for medical treatment and they are now in a stable condition," said Dong.

The accident occurred at around 9 PM on July 13 when the entrance of Dengta Coal Mine collapsed at Xi'an District of Liaoyuan City due to the continuous heavy rain in this area, he said.
