The Nanjing Massacre Memorial launched an English language version of its website yesterday at english.nj1937.org that it said advocates world peace and informs people of the atrocities committed there by Japanese soldiers in 1937-1938.

"December 13 will be the 68th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre. We launch this website to make more people around the world know about Japanese war crimes," said Zhu Chengshan, curator of the Memorial Hall for Compatriots killed in the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Forces of Aggression.

"The website will post the latest research findings and more than 300 pictures and video about the massacre," said Zhu.

Japanese troops occupied Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, on December 13, 1937 and launched a six week long massacre in which, according to historical records, more than 300,000 disarmed soldiers and civilians were slain.

The website's Chinese version, www.nj1937.org, was launched in December last year and has registered 300,000 visitors since then.
