Four people were killed and one was seriously injured in a vehicle collision in Huaiyuan County, east China's Anhui Province, local traffic police said Sunday.

The injured, a man surnamed Zhao about 30 years old, is still in danger and receiving treatment at the People's Hospital of Huaiyuan County, said the police.

The accident happened at 2:30 AM Saturday when a three-wheel rural vehicle collided with a container truck. Four of the five people in the rural vehicle died on the spot.

Investigation into the accident is underway.
